    Thanks, Blake.

For my indoor Autumn ornamental pepper fest, I like to stuff as many peppers into big pots as I can fit. I got me a fresh bag of miracle grow soil, for the occasion, which I love to use in my containers. The plants put on twice the yield!

Of course I will take shots of all the different varieties I am growing, later...

AAAAHHHHHHH!!!! INFORMATION OVERLOAD! I need to find the camera fast to keep up pace with you all. :o

Blake, HBl was right, I would LOVE some moonflower seeds. I don't have anything spectacular for trading, but there might be something on the list you like, just check the link in my signature.

HBL, It will be so awesome to see how those pearls do in your care, I bet you can invent a darker black than anyone's ever seen!

Fish/snails/ponds, those snails don't look like the ones I've seen at petsmart, but it could always vary by area. Maybe check to see if someone at your store knows anythign about their snails next time you go a-lookin' for those pretty fish you want. Oh, and about those fish, don't get anything tropical for your pond, HBL, they live in salt water and the salt levels are 1-hard to control & 2-would kill your plants. They do have fancy breeds of goldfish now-a-days that are better than the regular kind and you could also maybe get a koi the size of a goldfish.

So do you think I should put these minnows back in the river in the Fall, Zac? Or do you think I should make them pets, over winter? How long will they live for?

Great fotos everyone. mango is looking good HBL, I've just put a couple of Banana Pups out in the garden and they seem to be doing ok. My mangos are growing well, one like crazy but the other variety a lot more slowly, its more like the one in you picture HBL.

I've kept two large bananas inside in the conservatory, I'll get them accustomed to going outside next spring. What I'm really pleased about is that my Bouganvillea outside has started to flower again for the second time this year.

    Thanks, Penny!

Yes, it is pretty cool, having a mango and a banana tree. Wow! I am really having fun watching the mango grow. So neat that I got the seed from a grocery store fruit!

    : O

Ok, I have sown one last pepper variety this morning, to complete my indoor Autumn hot pepper fest...

    "Purple Tiger"

    By the way, Penny - - -

that black pearl sprout is as purple as can be! I've never seen anything like it! I hope ShearMe is right, and I can grow a gorgeous dark black specimen.

    We'll see...

    It sure is, Penny.

I just took this pic for you to see my sprout. I cannot believe how purple it is for a pepper seedling!!!

    : O

This is going to be so exciting to watch. Can't wait for it to turn black! It has been in full sun since the day it was born, and it will remain so.

Actually, it is going outside soon to grow in a pot - but then brought back inside for winter. What a cool plant. No one will suspect it's pepper plant, but it's so ornamental and attractive. I want ten of them next summer!

Anyway Penny, here is my black pearl sprout...

Comets are a good safe strong gold fish for small ponds / large vessels. The fancy tail ones get the white fin rot easily. I would put the fish back HB and get two small goldfish. Then you can teach them to come and be fed like chickens.

Feel like it was kind of meant to be - these fish. So I don't know if I will let them go so easily. Frankly, I am shocked they've even lived this long!

I will take a shot in the morning and you'll see how clean the pond is again. These little guys are incredible, and my pond has never been so sparkling. The cloudiness from the fish food has even gone away! I no longer have to sift anything. Why change my fish when they are working out wonderfully?! For this season, I think I am going to keep them.

After all - 'why fix what isn't broken', so to speak. Thanks for the information though Liz. May look into goldfish for next year...

Thanks, Penny. I am so excited.

    : )

Ok, here's my container pond today. Look how clear the water is!!! My little fish are doing a great job at keeping everything really clean for me. This is turning out to be a terrific experience.

How cool to have live fish in my pond this year! Anyway, here are my plants and pond again...

P.S. You can see my other banana plant beside the pond - really coming along now.

  21. I have tried to grow coffee plants, a couple of times, from beans with no success. Perhaps they were old. Next time I will try cuttings, since there are small coffe plantations near Sydney.

I was told, it's not so much hard, but takes a long time for them to pop - 2-3 months...
