Identification: Unidentified

    Found in woods, open area under hardwoods. Squirrels love 'em. White spore print.

    Looks like a cortinarius to me, except you said it had a white spore print.

    This is eaten completely by squirrels, Dry and very brittle. Stalk is meaty, not fibrous. Dose not stain. I've done a bit of research and cannot find anything that resembles this mushroom. The cap turns light tan to cream colored as it drys.

    Corts are blue arn't they? Sticky cap. Posion, I've attached a photo of a Cortinarious, looks like a Bluit, but stains brown. Brown spore print. I found both growing in close proximity.
