I have planted asparagus from seeds and just transplanted them into 1 to 2 gallon pots. They show a bit of ferns and are 4 to 6 inches tall. I am preparing a bed for them, digging 1 foot deep into the soil. I target my bed to be about 6 to 8 inches above ground. How deep should I transplant the seedlings? Another option is to let them grow in pots until next spring before I transplant. Are there experienced growers here shred some advice as to which is a better option?
