Perhaps I missed it - when was Stumpy planted? Is it a direct gift from Japan? I wonder what type of cherry? (Grafted or ?)

(it’s always been a dream to go to DC and see Smithsonian and various memorials and monuments and obviously, the famous cherry blossoms)

Just curious - has ocean water around our local famous Stanley Park seawall risen that same foot? I suppose that is a difficult question given that our seawall structure is a bit younger
