Is this right for Bloodgood?

    I only bought a bloodgood about 2years ago.
    It has solid medium red bark down to the graft, is this true to type?

    Yes, looks like a young Bloodgood to me. Maybe buried a little deep? I don't see a root flare, but it's hard to tell from the pictures.

    Thanks..it was the fairy prominent red bark that made me wonder.

    re potting - no not too deep, pots that get longer sun exposure during the day have 2inches of pure pine bark chips on the top so the roots don’t get so baked.

    The bark color fades on old growth over time, similar to "Sango kaku" and "Bihou".
