Need help with jade plant. My jade was doing just fine and suddenly it is dropping leaves like mad. I am not clear about proper watering. Could this be the cause? I water once a month as instructed by the nursery where purchased. I moved it about four feet closer to the window for more light thinking this may help. The soil is dry but I am afraid of over watering. Can someone help?

    Hi vkskn,

I don't grow jade, but I know there are a lot of threads on the forums about jade plants. You might want to use the Search function (on the green bar at the top of page) to look for threads on jade.

They should not be overwatered and need less water in winter, but if your house is very dry it may need water more often than once a month. Any sign of pests?

Are you giving it enough of a drink when you do water, or are the lower roots being kept dry? You need to water slowly (so it doesn't just run off the sides) til it comes out the drain holes. And give it all the sun you can all day.
